Our client was a European manufacturing company. They had launched a programme to improve manufacturing performance. Two years into this programme, the company was struggling to make progress, and the new CEO approached us to review their target model and roadmap.
What we did
We ran an operations scan on current performance and characteristics, which enabled us to create a target model and derive a change agenda. We then used this to redirect their roadmap and restart a limited number of initiatives to improve short-term performance.
What we accomplished
We enabled a shared understanding of the As-Is situation, including the company’s Commercial, Research and Development disciplines. This helped build a common view on the Target operating model, which is now a clear dot on the horizon that is driving the change programme. The change programme itself has been reset into a focused, step-by-step approach to ensure short-term benefits.
