On October 15th, 2021, we organized an in-house day for students who are interested in a career at M3 Consultancy. Although we moved to our new office two years ago, it was our first in-person in-house day. Last year, the pandemic forced us to turn it into an 'in-your-own-house day.' A vivid presentation, 'speed dates' on Zoom, and an online pub quiz (complete with beers from the brewery next to our office) made it a success.
Nevertheless, we were happy we could finally organize a 'traditional' in-house day on location. We felt that this was an extra special one, which is why we'd like to share a bit more about the day and the idea behind it!
Why organize an in-house day?
First and foremost, we hold this annual event because we want to show potential future employees what it's like to work at M3. Our goal is to inform and inspire them by explaining our work and sharing personal experiences.
An additional benefit of an in-house day is that participants get a taste of the atmosphere in the team and office. We find that very important, so we always make sure to reserve enough time for informal conversations.
What was the 2021 edition like?
We kicked off the event with a delicious lunch. Afterwards, Erwin, Tim, and I explained to participants what it's like to work at M3 and told them about our projects. Then, we coached them as they worked on a case (which was based on one of M3's projects). It was great to see the approaches they used and the insights they obtained. We wrapped the event with drinks at Werkspoorcafé De Leckere next door!
What's next?
Our 2021 in-house day was a great success. We met a lot of nice, intelligent potential employees. Hopefully, we can expand our team soon — and we'll have another in-person in-house day next year!
